Powering Young Minds
Sparsholt College, near Winchester, has applied for planning permission for a single 74m, 500kW wind turbine. The College is one of the leading land management and agricultural colleges in the country, providing first class post-16 and university-level education in a range of land based and other specialised courses.
The College intends the turbine to become an invaluable resource for practical education in renewable energy technology and sustainability. The turbine will produce enough electricity to power much of the College. The revenue generated will also be used to enhance facilities and resources for students.
This really is powering the minds of our young people. Hundreds of local people have already added their support and the planning application will be considered in Winchester on March 5th 2015.
Wishing Sparsholt College all the very best – we are behind you all the way!
